Montgomery County is located just north of Harris County.  It is the 36th fastest growing county in the U.S.according to recent Census Bureau estimates. It offers amenities such as fishing, camping, golfing and cultural events, set against the backdrop of the beautiful Piney Woods.

One of the oldest towns in Texas,Montgomerybegan as a trading post in 1826 and was chartered in 1837.

Montgomery was the first county seat of Montgomery County and was the third county formed under the Republic of Texas. It is also recognized as the birthplace of the Texas Lone Star Flag.

Montgomery County is the home of the 22,000 acre Lake Conroewhich you can enjoy a wide range of water sports on.  Montgomery County has 11 golf courses and 23 public parks.  Shop in the great outlet center, one of the Antique shops or even resale shopping. Hike, bike, camp, horseback ride, or bird watch outdoors in the 161,508 acre Sam Houston National Forest or the W. Goodrich Jones State Forest.
